The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, Statement No. 4, which emphasized Egypt's commitment to all regional and international treaties, stressing that the Council is confident that the people of Egypt and its institutions to overcome the current circumstances. The statement called for all state institutions, whether public or private sector to carry out its mission to complete the process of pushing the economy forward with telling the people to uphold the rule of law. The Council also demanded the current government headed by Shafik and Conservative commitment to conduct business until a new government of the country, also confirmed its commitment to the implementation of all international covenants and conventions which Egypt is committed. The statement disclosed the aspirations of the armed forces to ensure peaceful transition of power, and ensure the civilian rule of the country and free and fair elections. The statement also drew an invitation to people in cooperation with the civilian police and the commitment of the police with the slogan "the police in serving the people."
